Given that my artistic tastes are so bad I never like to "recommend" things. But I feel confident in this.I've found Gungor's latest album Ghosts Upon the Earth to be, musically and theologically, absolutely stunning.
The song "This is Not the End" is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard:

I absolutely love Gungor and this album in particular. Good choice. It is my hope as well.

My image with my teenage daughter rose to an all-time high; she affirmed me as the coolest mom around. See the benefits of being a regular reader of ET? I have not heard of Gungor, but I'll check it out now. I'm big on lyrics that are deeply meaningful. ~Peace~

ReplyDeleteGungor gives me hope as well. I work with teens and young adults. My experience is that they appreciate the beauty and depths of these lyrics. My classes were spellbound and deeply moved by the music/lyrics when I played it for them in class. So much so that many were restoratively moved toward re-interest in God.

ReplyDeleteThat hope has been one of the hardest things to lose in losing my faith. As my wife has said, it just seems like people should go on forever. Or I think of what CS Lewis wrote, about a recently deceased friend: "When the idea of death and the idea of Williams met in my mind, it was the idea of death that changed."
ReplyDeleteSusan, definitely check them out. Their album before the one Dr. Beck is talking about is probably one of my favorite albums of all times. Every song is theologically impacting and musically beautiful.
