A Prayer for Visiting a Cemetery

Happy All Souls Day.

A traditional Irish Catholic prayer for the day, a prayer for visiting a cemetery:

May God bless all the company of souls here,
may God and Mary bless you.
You too spent awhile here just as we are now
and we too will join you soon.
May we all be adorned in the beauty
of the bright King of Heaven.

  1. Here are two things I meditated on on Halloween:

    Sirach 28:6-7

    Remember the end of
your life, and set enmity aside; remember corruption and death, and be
true to the commandments. Remember the commandments, and do not be angry
with your neighbour; remember the covenant of the Most High, and
    overlook faults.
"Jesus didn't come to simply point us away
from this world by promising a new life after death. He came to make us
aware that, as children of his God, we are all his brothers and sisters,
all brothers and sisters of each other; we can therefore, live our
lives together without fear of death." - Henri Nouwen

  2.  Thanks for this! May I ask where that Nouwen quote is from? Like to track that down.
