Mary's Lullaby

The Brilliance is, hands down, my favorite Christian group. I can't tell you how much I love their music.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful Christmas songs I've ever heard is "Mary's Lullaby" from their album Advent Vol. 2.
Mary's Lullaby (The Brilliance)

Sleep my child
Sweet child of mine
For the days ahead
Will be full of life
Tonight my child
Close Your eyes
I will hold You
Close Your eyes

You're my light
You're my lamb
You'll lead us all
By Your hand
But tonight my child
Close Your eyes
I will hold You
Let me hold You
I will hold You
Close Your eyes
Close Your eyes

  1. Beautiful! I have to admit that, though I thought the words were just lovely when I read them, I was afraid before I listened that it was just another praise band rendition. Not that you push praise bands on your blog; I just have this bad taste in my mouth from praise bands. I was very pleasantly surprised.

What a better world this would be if we could remember that the heavenly parent in all of us should be singing this to each soul we meet. That is what LOVE does. It makes us aware that the indwelling of God is the life of the heavenly parent, child and guide; always giving birth to, and nurturing, life and light. Easy? Obviously not. Some make it very, very difficult. But, such is the pain of birth and growth, and the anxious challenge of facing the day with eyes wide open.

  2. Beautiful! Since you shared your favorite group I shall return... http://joshgarrels.bandcamp.com/track/white-owl Pretty much anything by Josh is great IMHO but White Owl is a personal favorite. You can listen to the whole album and others here http://joshgarrels.bandcamp.com/album/love-war-the-sea-in-between

  3. I second the Josh Garrells recommendation. And 'white owl' happens to be my favorite as well. I also appreciate Gungor, Waterdeep, and John Foreman.
