Theological Influences: Catholicism and Orthodoxy

I have to mention the influences of Catholicism and Orthodoxy upon my faith. The biggest impact, theologically and practically, has been from the sacramentalism of these traditions.

So much of my daily spiritual practice comes from Catholicism and Orthodoxy. From icons, to prayer ropes and beads, to the liturgical calendar, to the Jesus Prayer, to the Liturgy of the Hours.

All of this, along with the sacramental ontology which provides the foundation, has proved pivotal in my journey to re-enchant my faith after a long season of doubt, deconstruction, and disenchantment. Catholicism and Orthodoxy provided me tethers to faith when I could not find any others.
