Untitled

You are the light brighter
than the light,
so I see you best
in the darkness when
I have closed my eyes,
to perceive the fire burning
around me. The glow leaking
through the closed doors of my eyelids.
And impulsively, as I child would,
I throw them open quickly
with the impossibility
of catching you.
Hide and go seek
where none need search.
You cannot be lost
and I have already been found.
I see in the breath of those moments
the afterglow--
a fleeting halo that hovers,
caresses, and kisses
everything.
